We are called CuentosCón because we believe that every great story needs to be accompanied by something that nourishes the mind and the heart. That "with" symbolizes our purpose: they are not just stories, they are stories with values, with meaning and with accessible philosophy, even for the little ones. We want our stories to be seeds of reflection, inviting children to explore big questions about themselves and the world around them. Our "with" represents that bridge between imagination and critical thinking, a space where entertainment becomes learning and curiosity becomes self-discovery.
About me: I am Alberto Santos, a self-taught illustrator and proud creator of the visual universe of Cuentoscón, a publishing house dedicated to illustrated children's stories with universal values. My foray into illustration was born from the need to communicate ideas and emotions, using art as a bridge between the stories and those who read them. For me, an illustrated story is a work where text and images intertwine in perfect harmony. Illustrations not only complement the narrative, but tell stories on their own, adding depth and new layers of meaning. In each project, my goal is for readers to be able to immerse themselves in the visual details, hidden information, and explore the story from different perspectives. At Cuentoscón, my work is essentially artisanal, mostly done by hand, which allows me to capture the warmth and authenticity that only manual art can convey. Inspired by the philosophy of fostering values, imagination and critical thinking, each project is for me a unique opportunity to create something special, full of purpose and with a meaningful message. We have many exciting projects in the works, and we would be honored to have you as a part of them. Let's bring these stories to life together!
About me: Hello! I am Jonatan Machín, a teacher, educational psychologist, writer and narrator of stories that come from the heart, with the intention of connecting, exciting and accompanying the little ones on their path of growth. I have always believed that stories have the power to unite us, to create magical moments in the family and to help us understand the world from tenderness. I am lucky to work alongside Alberto Santos, a talented illustrator who, with his hands, gives life to the characters and landscapes that I imagine. His drawings not only complement the words, but elevate them, filling the pages with color and emotion. Together, we try to make each story a special corner where families can dream and share. We are not perfect, but we work with all the love and care to create stories that transmit values such as empathy, resilience and self-knowledge. I like to think I write philosophy for little thinkers. We are excited by the idea that our stories can be read at home, in the classroom or before bed, and that, in some way, they leave a small mark on the hearts of those who enjoy them.
